Best Boutique Hotel in Honolulu
By now, you should know I love a good boutique hotel as seen most recently here, here, and here. Any place that makes a new destination feel like a home away from home with a bit of cultural flair is a winner in my book. This post features one of my favorite boutique hotel finds yet!

Hawaii is the first destination where I've found it to be almost impossible to find boutique hotels. Every available hotel is a giant resort owned by a name brand hotel group offering rooms around $500 per night.
Thankfully, I found the Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club in Waikiki. This trendy hotel is steps from the famous Waikiki Beach and has that romantic surf shack, authentic Hawaiian charm. The vibe is centered around the hotel pool which sports a cheeky "Wish you were here" message.
Around the pool is the popular seafood restaurant and bar Mahina & Sun's, a pink themed cafe and shopping boutique Olive & Oliver, and plenty of cozy lounge areas. At night, classic Hawaiian movies like Blue Hawaii are projected without sound onto the building wall above the pool while live music beckons from the bar area.
We were upgraded to a penthouse with a spacious balcony, but don't be discouraged. For Hawaii, this boutique hotel is actually extremely affordable. The rooms are all decorated like a West Elm ad and I loved the great Davines bath products. If you book directly with the hotel, you can also get amazing, free rewards like valuable gift cards to Amazon, Sephora, and Uber!
While the hotel is not directly on the beach, it is a very short walk to Waikiki Beach and the hotel offers beach bags, chairs, bikes and towels to make it easy on guests. There is also so much to see and do on Oahu, it is worth it to rent a car to check out the great beaches and hiking on the North Shore. Definitely book this hotel if you are staying in the Honolulu area, I swear you will love it!
