So Sofitel Singapore
After almost 24 hours of traveling, Dan and I arrived at Singapore Changi Airport close to midnight. I had originally debated staying at an airport hotel since we were arriving so late, but I'm glad I booked a room at the 5-star luxury boutique hotel, So Sofitel Singapore, instead. It was easy to book an Uber from my phone and we arrived at our hotel about twenty minutes later.
Boutique hotels are my absolute favorite to find in a new city because they always offer a unique experience. We stayed in a So Lofty room which included a king bed, a huge bathroom with rain shower, large tub, dual sinks, and a separate vanity, as well as, a large balcony. The hotel is located in the central business district, so the views are really just of other buildings, but the balcony was still a nice place to enjoy my tea in the morning.
Our room included a free drink at the bar and a delicious champagne breakfast, which we were sure to take advantage of. We also checked out the rooftop pool and bar, although the weather was pretty overcast that day. My friend who lives in Singapore told me many of the hotels host pool parties regularly for the locals as well, so she was pretty familiar with all of the hotels I considered. Needless to say, I am very envious of her expat lifestyle.
Across the street from the hotel is the popular Telok Ayer Market where you can find various international cuisines, including the Singapore specialty Spicy Chili Crab. Marina Bay is also close by, accessible by taxi or public transit , or even by foot if you're willing to brave the humidity.
Of the two hotels we stayed at in Singapore I found this to be the most comfortable and I would gladly stay here again on my next trip to this city. Thank you, So Sofitel Singapore for a lovely stay!
